History

Premier Dental Partners Has a Long and Proud History

Our origins date back to the 1950s, when the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis – now part of Barnes-Jewish Hospital and BJC HealthCare — founded its General Practice Residency in Dentistry. Many of our skilled dentists trained in this prestigious residency program, gaining expertise with complex dental issues, special needs patients and dental emergencies for the entire Washington University medical complex. By the late 1980s, the hospital opened its first outpatient dental practice: The Jewish Hospital Dental Group. The group’s dentists helped develop standards that raised the bar for clinical excellence in dentistry. They conducted clinical research in partnership with Washington University, and joined clinical trials with major toothpaste manufacturers. In the 1990s, the dental group opened additional offices to meet the needs of the hospital system’s growing employee population and surrounding communities. In 1994, the dental group, with four offices, incorporated as Premier Dental Partners. Today, with 12 convenient locations and dentists in St. Louis city, St. Louis County and St. Charles County, we have continued to expand to meet the growing demand for comprehensive, high-quality dental services – carrying on our founders’ commitment to excellence and personalized care.
